Bakies ...

I was looking at a cookie box the other day that read "Soft Baked". How can you bake something softly ? Shouldn't it have read Soft and Baked ? Also, why are cookies called cookies ? They arn't cooked; they're baked in the oven. Shouldn't they be called bakies ?

Just wondering. Am I right ? I think so.
